ARTIST PROFILE
I am Stephen Anderson and I was born in Sydney.
I have been interested in pottery and painting since my early teens and found I had some talent.
After leaving high school I attended East Sydney Tech and studied Art for a short while whilst I worked as a copy boy for Consolidated Press in Sydney.
Whilst at Consolidated Press my portrait of “John Farnham” was published in the then newly launched “Cleo” magazine when Ita Buttrose was editor.
For many years I’ve dabbled in comic drawing entertaining my children. I am at present creating a childrens picture book.
After living in Ballina for 20 years I moved my family to the Tweed area where I have recently branched out into painting the local buildings in the Tweed Shire.
My paintings are acrylic paint on canvas usually finished with Clear.
I find portrait painting to be satisfying and also a challenge.
